Sprinting With Cieli Azzurri

In October of 2015, in a joint effort with Rossocorsa, Cieli Azzurri organized the event “Sprinting with Cieli Azzurri”. This event took place in Rossocorsa’s Milan showroom, and it was organized with the aim of raising funds to support the “Hi-Tech Cradles in Intensive Care” project, an initiative aimed at donating highly sophisticated cradles to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Mangiagalli Clinic.

This event would have never been possible without Tommaso Rocca, a pilot on the Ferrari Challenge circuit, and his family, who invited friends and sport car enthusiasts to spend an evening together, supporting a good cause. For the car enthusiasts, this was a unique occasion to see in person some pretty special cars, including the very car with which Tommaso took part in his latest race on the Ferrari Challenge circuit.

Throughout the evening, the musical backdrop was provided by “The Beaters”, a young four-piece band which recently won a “Best Beatles Cover Band” contest in Liverpool. Their classic sound and upbeat energy provided a thoroughly entertaining atmosphere for all the attendees.

This event allowed us, thanks to the generosity of the many attendees, to raise more than 13,000 euros, which represented a very significant contribution towards the purchase of a “Giraffe” hi-tech cradle. These cradles are highly sophisticated pieces of machinery which allow surgeons to operate the youngest patients directly within the cradles themselves, thus avoiding a transfer to the operating room. In many of the cases faced by the Policlinic’s professionals, this transfer can be even more dangerous than the operation in question, thus creating the need for cradles of this sort. If you wish to learn more about these cradles and our project built around them, we invite you to read this article.

We would to thank, from the bottom of our hearts, all those who made this wonderful event possible, including our very generous hosts. On top of that, a special thanks has to go to the Rocca Family, to Tommaso, and to his sponsors.
