Music Night & Friends
In January of 2014, Cieli Azzurri organized the event “Music Night & Friends of Pediatric Surgery”, with the objective of raising funds for various initiatives that the Mangiagalli clininc of the Ca’ Granda Foundation in Milan aimed to carry out within the world of Pediatric Surgery. This event was held within the “Salumeria della Musica”, a renowned jazz club located in Milan, which offers a relaxing atmosphere centered around live music.
The evening was also an occasion to honor the retirement of Dr. Maurizio Torricelli, head of the Policlinic Hospital as well as a current member of Cieli Azzurri’s Scientific Board. Many of Dr. Torricelli’s colleagues, including both doctors and hospital staff, joined us in celebrating his illustrious career, marrying live music with a good cause.
The evening’s musical backdrop was provided by the Mnogaja Leta Quartet, a band hailing from Milan. Formed in 1961 and made up of four childhood friends, the Mnogaja Leta Quartet mainly offers a repertoire of Negro-Spiritual music, inspired by the work of the Golden Gate Quartet. For more information, we invite you to visit the Wikipedia page dedicated to the band (please note that the page is only available in Italian).
This event allowed us to raise a substantial sum of around 7000 euros, which was used to support initiatives of professional training, within the context of the “Ecmo” and “Trauma Center” projects.
We would like to thank, from the bottom of our hearts, all those who took part in this event, thus choosing to contribute to our cause. A big thank you also goes out to all those who had a hand in organizing this wonderful event.
