Scientific Equipment and Enhancement of Pediatric Surgery
Following is the complete list of the scientific equipment purchased and subsequently donated by Cieli Azzurri ONLUS from 1992 to 2007. The main objective of this endeavour was to enhance activities of Pediatric Surgery within the "Vittore Buzzi" Hospital.
- 2007: Donation of optical equipment to the operational unit of otolaryngology headed by Dr. Alessandro Cazzavillan. This was the result of a collaboration with the Lions Club Bramante Cinque Giornate.
- 2004: Loan of an optical system and of surgical instrumentation for the removal of foreign bodies from the breathing apparatus, all within the context of pediatric endoscopy.
- 2003: Purchase of the equipment needed by the Pediatric Division for the treatment of babies suffering from acute respiratory failure.
- 2002: Purchase of highly specialized surgical instrumentation for the Center of Liver Transplant of Milan’s Policlinic Hospital.
- 2002 Supply of the equipment for the “Hospital Without Pain” project of Florence’s Meyer Hospital.
- 2002 Purchase of a respirator for mechanical ventilation for the Neonatal Pathology Division.
- 2001: Purchase of an instrument needed for the post-surgery renal depuration of babies suffering from acute renal failure; this instrument was extensively used by the Intensive Care Unit.
- 1999-2001: Completion of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
- 1998: Purchase of a second highly specialized respirator for the Pediatric Intensive Care.
- 1997: Completed the preparation of the first Intensive Pediatric Care bed in Milan, the first of its kind in the city.
- 1995: Completion of a specialized laboratory for the study of intestinal motility, named after Mario Massarani.
- 1994: Completion of an urodynamic laboratory for the study of urinary incontinence in pediatric age.
